AS9100 Standard
AS9100 takes the ISO 9001 requirements and supplements them with additional quality system requirements, which are established by the aerospace industry in order to satisfy DOD, NASA and FAA quality requirements. This standard outlines the requirements related to quality management for an organizations’ products and/or services to ensure the meeting of customer’s requirements. The AAQG is a cooperative organization within the aerospace industry in the Americas (including North, Central and South Americas). Its processes are established in a set of agreed, documented, operational procedures.
Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is an industry-managed approach to conformity assessment of 'special processes' that brings together technical experts from prime contractors, suppliers and representatives from government to work together and establish requirements for approval.

AS9100:2016 Certification Process
The AS9100 certification process starts with understanding all requirements your organization has to meet to prepare for the certification audit.

Phase 1 = PLAN and perform a GAP analysis of your QMS quality management system and develop an implementation plan (Project Road Map).

Phase 2 = DO, implement necessary changes to close the gap between your current system and ISO 9000 series standard you’re seeking.

Phase 3 = CHECK, follow-up assessment to validate the changes are effectively implemented

Phase 4 = ACT, on any necessary changes needed in preparation for the certification audit and receive AS9100d ANAB accreditation.

Road Map to AS9100 Certification
Road Map to AS9100 certification
Step 1- Preparation Core Compliance educate companies on expectations for ISO requirements to ISO 9001:2015 and layout the road map with objectives, timeline and milestones. We work with designated team members, in building your organization customized quality management system implement the processes and training for internal audits and management review. We coordinate , update the road map through an online platform throughout the compliance process.
Discovery-Gathering current related ISO/ASQ documentation onsite related to AAQG requirements, along with providing procedures, work instructions, forms/exhibits.
Gap Analysis current state of Quality Management System for Aerospace compared to ASQ requirements. Update road map based upon findings for clear next steps and milestones for AS9100d certification. On completion of approved management system, we move to implementation.
Implementation/Training- of AS9100:2016 quality management system with company and provide onsite training.
Internal Audit- education and training with a mock-audit for preparation with staff for Registrar Audit

Step 2- A certification body, also referred to as a “registrar”, performs an audit to assess compliance with the standard and the organization’s declared management system. Upon a successful audit, the organization is granted a certificate of compliance from the trusted third party registrar. The organization undergoes additional but lesser surveillance audits at least annually thereafter for 3 years until the certification then expires and requires a re-certification.
