What is AS9100:2016

  AS9100d Quality Management System is the international standard that specifies requirements for Aerospace organizations including Aviation, Space & Defense industries. This standard outlines the requirements related to quality management for an organizations’ products and/or services to ensure the meeting of customer’s requirements. The Aerospace industry developed an Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) to provide an official world-wide directory of IAQG members, accreditation bodies, approved registrars, certified aerospace experienced auditors, and certified organizations.

Transition to AS9100:2016

 Are you looking to update your quality management system and transition to AS9100:2016? We have a developed process that includes developing a road map of transition requirements with including you’re existing business processes in as little as 30-60 days.

September 20, 2016 the AS9100D version of the standard released. The update incorporates changes in the ISO 9001:2015 standard in addition to considering aviation, space and defense stakeholders’ needs. The updated AS9100D version includes 105 additional requirements such as configuration management, risk management, special requirements, critical items, on-time delivery, project management and supplier scope of approval.

Step 1- Preparation Core Compliance educate companies on expectations for ISO requirements to ISO 9001:2015 and layout the road map with objectives, timeline and milestones. We work with designated team members, in building your organization customized quality management system implement the processes and training for internal audits and management review. We coordinate , update the road map through an online platform throughout the compliance process.

Discovery-Gathering current related ISO/ASQ documentation onsite related to AAQG requirements, along with providing procedures, work instructions, forms/exhibits.

Gap Analysis current state of Quality Management System for Aerospace compared to ASQ requirements. Update road map based upon findings for clear next steps and milestones for AS9100d certification. On completion of approved management system, we move to implementation.

Implementation/Training- of AS9100:2016 quality management system with company and provide onsite training.

Internal Audit- education and training with a mock-audit for preparation with staff for Registrar Audit

Step 2- A certification body, also referred to as a “registrar”, performs an audit to assess compliance with the standard and the organization’s declared management system. Upon a successful audit, the organization is granted a certificate of compliance from the trusted third party registrar. The organization undergoes additional but lesser surveillance audits at least annually thereafter for 3 years until the certification then expires and requires a re-certification.
